Motherdough Pizza
Building Motherdough’s Social Media Presence
From a quiet Instagram account to a clear, consistent social presence built for growth.

Introduction
A social presence that finally matched the product.
Motherdough already had the ingredients of a strong brand: proper Neapolitan pizza, natural wine, a distinctive Wapping location and plenty of personality behind the scenes.
The challenge was making sure its social media reflected it.
When we began working together, Instagram lacked a consistent identity, a clear content structure and a reason for people to keep coming back. The opportunity was not simply to post more. It was to turn the account into a recognisable extension of the restaurant itself.
We developed a clear social strategy, defined the tone of voice, introduced stronger content pillars and refined the visual direction. The result was a feed with more purpose, more personality and a much clearer idea of what Motherdough should be known for.

Building a recognisable social identity
The strongest social accounts do not need to reinvent themselves every week. They know what they want to be known for and build consistency around it.
For Motherdough, that meant putting the craft at the centre of the content. The dough being stretched. Pizzas going into the oven. Tiramisu being made. Ingredients being prepared. The team in service. The details that make the restaurant feel alive.
This gave us a content language that could be repeated without becoming repetitive. Rather than a grid made up of disconnected food shots, Motherdough began to feel like one brand from post to post.
The visual identity became more considered, the tone became more consistent and every piece of content had a clearer job to do.

Creating content people actually want to watch
The shift in content also gave us a much clearer picture of what the audience responded to.
People and process consistently stood out. Chef-led footage, behind-the-scenes moments and short-form video gave audiences something that polished product photography alone could not: a reason to stop, watch and get closer to the brand.
We built around that behaviour.
Instead of chasing trends for the sake of them, the strategy focused on repeatable content that felt natural to Motherdough. Craft, people, ingredients, the restaurant and the experience became recognisable strands of the social presence.
That consistency made the account easier to understand and easier to follow. It also meant growth was not dependent on one viral post or one successful piece of content. There was a system behind it.

Turning consistency into growth
The clearest measure of that system is what happened beyond views. As more people discovered the content, more of them chose to follow, engage with and explore Motherdough.
The follower base grew from 939 to 1,461, and the pace of that growth picked up month by month: net new followers rose from 10 a month to 125.
That growth did not come from a single viral moment. It came from giving people a consistent reason to stay.
From attention to genuine interest
Profile visits rose from 370 to 889, showing that significantly more people were moving beyond individual posts to discover the wider brand. Interactions more than doubled, increasing from 202 to 481, while link taps grew from 12 to 51 as more people took the next step towards Motherdough itself.
Crucially, these were not isolated spikes; every metric moved together.
The account became more visible, but it also became more engaging and far more effective at turning passing attention into real, lasting interest in the brand.

Conclusion
A social channel built to keep growing
The aim was never simply to make Motherdough’s Instagram look better.
It was to build a social presence that felt like the restaurant, gave people a reason to follow and could grow consistently over time.
Monthly views have more than tripled. The follower base has grown by more than half. Profile visits and interactions have more than doubled, and link activity is more than four times where it started.
Behind those numbers is a much simpler change: Motherdough now knows what it looks like, what it sounds like and what people want to see from it.
That gives the brand something more valuable than a run of good posts. It gives it a social media strategy with the foundations to keep growing.
A clearer brand. Better content. A bigger audience.
